Location: Reno, NV, United States Requisition Number: req163 Supervisor, Accounts Payable | Hybrid Opportunity (must live in the greater Reno, NV area) General Summary The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of transactions, and overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely processing of invoices in accordance with corporate policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with internal control requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversees the daily activities of the Accounts Payable Specialists. Ensures payments are made in timely and accurate manner. Responds to sensitive vendor and internal inquiries. Prepares and submits 1099 reporting for AP vendors and Claims Vendors. Performs AP Liability Reconciliation. Resolves escalated issues from AP staff, vendors, and management. Performs the monthly AP close and ensuring timely completion of all AP tasks. Stays current on AP trends. Research and document new trends and their potential application. Communicates with management. Interfaces with auditors (internal and external) during regular audits and provides requested documents and explanations timely. Assists with projects for systems upgrades and/or replacements. May directly oversee or participate in implementation, documentation, and fulfilling testing requirements prior to implementation. Ensures documentation of processes and procedures are updated regularly or as needed. Reviews processes and procedures, developing recommendations to improve efficiencies and controls. Works to implement improvement ideas noted by herself/himself, the AP team, internal audit, leaders and others. In coordination with business control and other finance team, ensures that AP is SOX compliant. Develop, mentor, and coach staff while providing real-time feedback to address performance gaps and establish operational goals. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5-7 years related work experience. 3 years of supervisory/lead experience. A minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience. Strong understanding of accounts payable policies and procedures. Experience with General Ledger accounts. Ability to perform account reconciliations. Reliable, detail-oriented, team player. Ability to work with management to define goals and understand business needs. Good organization skills with the ability to multi task effectively and meet all deadlines. Oracle Cloud Financials Experience Experience filing 1099s preferred. Goal-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to shifting priorities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software tools. Exemplary written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Workers’ compensation experience preferred. Certification Accounts Payable Specialist Certification preferred. Accounts Payable Manager Certification preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Salary Range: $54,000 - $85,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. EXPECTED WORK HOURS: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed. May work early, late, or occasional weekend hours to accommodate business needs. TRAVEL: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary. This role potentially and will routinely use office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and web conferencing technology as examples. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some mobility is required. Occasional lifting of a maximum of 30lbs.
