Opus have partnered with a company on the hunt for a Lead PHP Developer to join a friendly, fast-moving team based in Leeds. If you love clean code, clever solutions, and collaborating with a great bunch of people, keep reading. What’s the role? As the Lead PHP Developer, you’ll be the go-to person for all things backend. From shaping system architecture to mentoring the dev team, you’ll have a big impact on how they build and deliver digital products. They're working on some interesting and exciting projects – and want you in the driver’s seat to lead the team. You’ll be doing things like: Leading Laravel-based development projects from start to finish Collaborating with designers, PMs, and other devs to bring ideas to life Guiding and mentoring junior developers Keeping the codebase slick, scalable, and secure Staying on top of the latest tech trends and bringing fresh ideas to the table What you’ll need: Solid experience with PHP and Laravel Strong grasp of frontend frameworks – ideally React Comfortable working with MySQL, REST APIs, and Git Previous experience in a senior or lead dev role A problem-solving mindset and great communication skills What you’ll get: A salary of £65k Hybrid working – 2 days a week in the Leeds office, 3 days remote A relaxed, collaborative atmosphere with a “no egos” policy Opportunities to grow, upskill, and make your mark To learn more about this role, contact me on Danny.Moore@opusrs.com
