Townsville Hospital and Health Service , is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island; operating 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital. About the opportunity: Position: Cook Vacancy: Permanent Full-time Location: Ayr/Home Hill Health Service / Ayr/Home Hill Ayr Health Service is a 28-bed facility located in the township of Ayr, in North Queensland. The Ayr Health Service offers general medical, surgical and obstetric services to Ayr, Home Hill and the broader Burdekin Shire. Home Hill Health Service is a 14-bed rural facility predominately providing aged care, rehabilitation and renal dialysis services to the local community. The renal satellite unit has eight chairs and operates three days a week with extra services when required. Provide quality catering support to a multidisciplinary team to facilitate service delivery within the Ayr and Home Hill Health Services. Your contributions will be valued and impactful. Requirements: Mandatory qualifications/ professional registration/ other requirements Although not mandatory a relevant trade qualification in cooking or previous work experience in a similar role would be desirable. Possession of /or willingness to undertake studies leading to, a Food Safety Supervisors Certificate would be well regarded. Highly regarded: Basic understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviours as applied in the working environment. Demonstrated comparable level of competency-based skills in professional and dietary cooking in a health care setting would be desirable but not mandatory for this position. This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis. Probation period may apply.
