Job Description & Requirements This role is on-site in Gelang Patah, Johor ob Overview: We are seeking an experienced Project Director to oversee the Installation and Commissioning of a state-of-the-art Building Management System (BMS) for our customers, spanning across difference industries, from Commercial to Industrial/Data Center. The Project Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project from planning through execution, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time, and budget. The role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise, in both new built and retrofit buildings/facilities. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Management: Lead, coordinate, and manage all phases of the project, including planning, design, execution, testing & commissioning to final close-out. Oversee & plan for project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely, high quality and cost-effective project completion. Liaise with senior management, stakeholders, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers and contractors in ensuring effective collaboration and execution. Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and resolution of any project issues or risks. Risk & Quality Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery. Ensure that the project meets all regulatory, quality, and safety standards as per industry best practices. Budget & Resource Management: Monitor project budgets and ensure effective use of resources, maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all project milestones are achieved within the specified budget constraints. Contract Management: Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with vendors and contractors. Ensure contract terms are adhered to and any necessary amendments or changes are managed effectively. Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates on project progress, issues, and solutions to key stakeholders, including senior management and clients. Facilitate project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and resolutions. Coordinate closely with other department heads to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the project objectives, resource management, project timeline and quality. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, managing large-scale projects and multiple projects concurrently. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within budget and schedule. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of BMS from design to construction and operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. In-depth understanding of construction project management software and tools. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in Malaysia. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external contractors. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. Other Requirements: Ability to travel to the project sites as and when required. Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
