Financial Controller

The Role: As Financial Controller, you will play a central role in professionalising and evolving the finance function , working closely with a newly appointed CFO and the senior leadership team. This is more than a financial reporting role—it’s a strategic opportunity to help shape the company’s future. You’ll have the platform to influence financial strategy , support international scaling, and play a key role in preparing the business for a potential Private Equity transaction . For the right candidate, there is a clear progression pathway to Group Financial Controller as the business expands internationally. Key Responsibilities: Lead the month-end close process, delivering accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements. Drive the annual budgeting process and manage robust rolling forecasts. Strengthen internal controls and implement scalable, best-practice financial processes . Manage key external relationships, including banks, auditors, and insurers . Support and mentor a small, high-potential finance team, fostering a collaborative culture. Deputise for the CFO as needed, providing consistent leadership during key decision-making moments. Play a lead role in preparing the business for a Private Equity exit , supporting due diligence and strategic financial planning. What We’re Looking For: Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with experience producing management accounts and leading finance teams. Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of supporting growth in fast-paced environments . Experience with financial audits, ERP systems , and delivering operational improvements.
