Financial Director

Overview: Ardeta Search is excited to be partnering with a well-established Sheffield-based business, with a turnover of around £100m, and trading history around 50 years. We are seeking a Financial Director to lead the company through an exciting period of financial transformation, system improvement, and strategic development in collaboration with the owners and senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a commercially astute, strategic financial leader with a passion for driving efficiency, improving financial systems, and shaping the future of the business . The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing financial operations, managing risk, and guiding the company towards further sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with UK regulations. Oversee audits, tax planning, and corporate governance. Strengthen financial controls and risk management frameworks. Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors for compliance and efficiency. Investment Management Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure operational stability. Implement strategies to maximise financial returns and value of the business Assess investment opportunities to drive sustainable growth. Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals. Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support profitability. Provide commercial insights to inform growth and investment decisions. Optimise capital structure and financing strategies. Technology & Process Optimisation Lead financial system upgrades and automation initiatives. Oversee digital transformation projects to enhance operational efficiency. Utilise data analytics for informed financial decision-making. Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture. Enhance financial literacy across the organisation to support strategic goals. Partner with senior leaders, owners, and external stakeholders to drive business success. Candidate Profile: We are looking for a qualified and experienced finance leader who possesses: Proven experience as a Financial Director, Head of Finance, or similar senior finance role. Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong technical background. A track record of leading financial transformation and system improvements . Strong commercial acumen, with experience providing strategic financial guidance to senior leadership. Hands-on leadership skills with the ability to drive process improvements and efficiency.
