Job Description
Overview Join our engineering group and lead the end-to-end design of electrical power-and-control solutions for advanced material-handling equipment. You’ll own schematic creation, component sizing / selection, and safety-code compliance while collaborating with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2023 and a passion for continuous improvement are essential. Key Responsibilities System Design – Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for control panels, PLC/HMI interfaces, motor-control centers, and safety circuits. Component Selection – Specify breakers, relays, sensors, transformers, power supplies, fuses, and wire sizes that meet load, fault-current, and regulatory requirements. Cross-Functional Integration – Partner with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration and manufacturability. Prototype & Testing Support – Assist in prototype builds, FAT/SAT testing, troubleshooting, and on-site commissioning. Safety & Compliance – Conduct risk assessments and enforce UL, IEC, NEC, NFPA 79/70E, CE, ISO 13849, UL 508A, and related standards throughout the design lifecycle. Documentation & Continuous Improvement – Generate and maintain accurate BOMs, assembly instructions, and technical reports; drive improvements in performance, reliability, and cost. Requirements Education – B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience). Experience – 5 years in industrial electrical hardware design. Software – Expert-level proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical 2023 . Technical Depth Ability to size transformers, power supplies, and circuit protection. Strong grasp of control systems, power distribution, and safety circuits. Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus. Working knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 70E, ISO 13849, and related standards. Soft Skills – Excellent communication, collaboration, and independent problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing material-handling or conveyor systems. Familiarity with CE marking and global export requirements.
