Job Description
WHS Delivery Station Regional Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) The WHS Delivery Station Regional Manager will be responsible for 5 to 7 Delivery Stations to execute company Safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. The WHS Delivery Station Regional Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company WHS policies and assist the regional teams in incorporating our WHS standards at their sites. They will also be responsible for identifying best practices and incorporating these into our standards to continuously improve company Safety policies. The WHS Delivery Station Regional Manager will lead a team of WHS Officers in their region, creating and executing leadership development plans for their WHS Associates. They must communicate safety team expectations and provide frequent and appropriate feedback to their WHS teams, ensuring they execute to the core competencies of an Amazon professional. This individual must also demonstrate the ability to judge and assess WHS talent and select appropriate bench strength to meet current and future business needs. Key Job Responsibilities Manage overall compliance with local requirements and authorities. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and regulatory requirements. Measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies and identify a plan for sites to implement and fix deficiencies. Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity, providing Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives. Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations. Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas where safety risk is highest. Audit recordkeeping practices and Global WHS Database entries for compliance with global WHS standards and local regulations. Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent. Manage and mentor the region WHS Officers and WHS Associates in assigned sites. Spend time at sortation centers and delivery stations, seeking input on WHS program improvement opportunities. Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against suggestions. Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy and audit the quality and effectiveness of all required WHS training. Review deployed WHS tools for effectiveness and revise to ensure continual improvement. Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS standards. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree completed; Experience in WHS programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations; Knowledge of Brazilian Regulations and Technical Standards; Experience designing and implementing WHS policy, processes, and procedural documentation; Experience in People Management; Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends; English skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Ergonomics, or a related field required; Mobility to Brazil regions; Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders; Exhibit excellent root cause analysis, problem-solving, training skills, and attention to detail; Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy; The credibility and influencing skills to build buy-in to change.
