Head of Business Development Maritime and Logistics company specialising in Mining and Minerals logistics

Reporting to : Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location : Johannesburg or Durban Salary up to 1,5 mil per annum depending on qualifications and experience Essentials for the role Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA advantageous). Minimum 8–10 years of business development experience in logistics, clearing, and forwarding industries specialising in mining and minerals.CANDIDATES WHO ARE NOT FROM THIS INDUSTRY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED Proven track record of securing large-scale contracts and growing key accounts. Strong network and industry relationships within regional and international logistics markets specialising in mining and minerals . Experience with pricing, tender processes, and client negotiations. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams . Objectives of this Role Lead and implement business development strategies that contribute to sustainable revenue growth. Identify new market segments and expand the company’s footprint across target geographies. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value prospects across all service offerings. Strengthen the company’s brand presence and relationships with key stakeholders and partners. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business development plans in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Lead market research efforts to identify potential clients, sectors, and trends. Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle including client engagement, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations . Represent company at trade shows, networking events, and client briefings . Manage and mentor a high-performing business development and sales team.
