Job Description

Our Junior Accountant will have the following responsibilities: Finance: • Perform general duties including, but not limited to, data entry, petty cash management, assist on bank reconciliation. • Analysis and booking of invoices to be completed for payment. • Complete and compile Cash flow template. • Be in a daily contact with the departments to ensure PO’s and request of payment are consistent with Group policy and procedures to ensure accuracy; • Reconcile suppliers accounts. • Support month-end and year-end close process. • Assistance in proper control of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports, payment execution and monitoring payment status. • Provide administrative support in documentation of accounting processes and all other accounting documentation. • Liaise with service providers for accounting, tax and payroll. • Assisting other staff with any accounting or financial support relating to the projects being undertaken by the Group. • Perform ad-hoc work or support as required by Manager(s); • Preparation of payment instructions for local and foreign service providers, group entities; • Bank reconciliation and monitoring on a monthly basis; • Preparation of the documents for tax declarations; • Administrative: Maintenance of files and records relevant to corporate secretary. Education and Technical Skills Level (academic degree, experience, courses, habilitations, language, …) • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role. • Knowledge and experience in administrative, financial accounting and full range of office support work, with a high level of sustained performance. • South African national or valid work permit for South Africa. • Fluency in English and is mandatory, knowledge of other local languages and French is a plus. Required Soft Skills (autonomy level, responsibility level, accuracy, interpersonal skills, …) • Self-starter, quick learner, takes initiative and ownership, eager to learn new things. • Strong written and verbal skills, as well as effective communication. • Excellent skills in MS Office programs. • Team player. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Capacity to manage and prioritize time and multiple tasks efficiently, especially when operating under pressure or deadlines; • Willing to receive and accept feedback, as well as giving constructive criticism to peers.
