Job Description
Data Center Senior Sustainability Director Our client is a leading Data Center operator working closely with hyperscalers across APAC, expanding aggressively (beyond 200MW expansion in plan for the next couple of years). They are currently seeking for Sustainability - Senior Director to act as a change agent and help establishing our client as a Green Data Center leader in APAC. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive environmental innovation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion sustainable solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. As the Sustainability - Senior Director, you are responsible for developing sustainability strategy, managing end-to-end sustainability related matters to energy, water and waste. The successful candidate will have a strong background in developing mid-term and long-term sustainability strategies for Data Center, proficient with green Data Centre requirements and operations, Energy Management, Renewable energy landscape APAC. Must be a holder of Singapore Certified Energy Manager. Green Mark Manager and ISO 1400 highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Sustainability Strategy & Leadership: Develop and lead the sustainability strategy for mid-term and long-term, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of environmental responsibility. Industry Insight & Strategic Partnerships: Monitor emerging sustainability trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making. Serve as a key liaison with the Group Sustainability function and external stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutions, and technology partners. Oversee end-to-end sustainability efforts related to energy, water, and waste management. Partner with operational teams to integrate sustainable practices and drive measurable improvements. ESG Data & Reporting: Establish robust processes for ESG data collection, validation, and reporting. Ensure accurate and timely aggregation of sustainability metrics for internal and Group-wide disclosures. Performance & Accountability: Co-own key sustainability metrics (e.g., PUE, WUE, carbon emissions) with operations, ensuring adherence to industry best practices. Drive the execution of sustainability roadmaps and track progress against targets. Partner with the Strategy team to explore green innovations and external collaborations (e.g., universities, research bodies, tech firms). Act as the internal subject-matter expert, providing guidance and upskilling teams on sustainability best practices. Budget Management: Oversee the sustainability budget, ensuring effective allocation to deliver strategic objectives. Additional Duties: Support other business-critical initiatives as required to contribute to organizational growth. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related disciplines 15 years of experience in technical/ sustainability role with minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership position Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams to develop the sustainability strategies for mid and long term for Data Centers.
