Job Overview : Senior lawyer specializing in environmental and public funding regulations: We are seeking a qualified senior lawyer with an extensive experience (at least 10 years in legal department of multinational companies or in alternative in international law firms) with environmental and public funding regulations under Italian/European law. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal clients (i) to develop strategies that comply with environmental regulations, with a strong focus on industrial pollution, permitting processes, including obtaining permits for air emissions, water discharge, and land use; and in public funding sector (ii) to check/negotiate the funding documentation, advising how to mitigate the risk associated with the various funding models, including advising on requirements and constraints associated, also ensuring compliance with the statutory framework and the terms and conditions imposed by lenders, managing tax implications. Key Responsibilities : This individual will be responsible for providing day by day legal advise to the management balancing business needs with legal contraints; For environmental regulations: - Providing legal opinions and advice on environmental laws, preparing and submitting detailed permit applications, liaising with regulatory agencies, addressing public concerns, and ensuring compliance with all conditions outlined in the permits; - Handling complex legal strategies and litigation, related to air/water pollution and waste management (collecting, transporting, processing, recycling, and disposing of waste materials in a way that minimizes their impact on the environment) coordinating with outside counsel and managing costs; For public funding: - Giving legals supports in verifying commitments and contracts upon specific requests and in compliance with applicable rules and legislation, facilitating the smooth execution of public funding initiatives and preventing legal disputes. For both the areas: - Assessing and monitoring the various risks and developing the existing procedures and best practices; - Drafting and negotiating Italian/cross border contracts/transactions; Qualifications : - Qualified Italian Attorney at Law with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the above described fields. - English fluent; German and/or French languages are a plus - Ability to understand technical reports and recognize issues. - Discuss experience advising clients on strategies to mitigate identified risks. - Demonstrate meticulousness and dedication to fully informing clients prior to commitments - Emphasize adaptability in presenting legal perspectives to non-lawyers from various backgrounds. - Outline communication and relationship-building skills.
