About the role: This role will be onboarded after April 1st 2025 The Engineering Manager is an integral part of the Engineering Team, responsible for preventative maintenance of all hotel equipment. They should have basic knowledge to diagnose and handle repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and associated equipment throughout the building. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, refrigeration & HVAC, kitchen equipment, painting & decorating maintenance is also required. What you will do: Be a part of the pre-opening team Assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC, refrigeration, interior, paint, and decorating. Respond to inquiries and problems efficiently, courteously, and professionally to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies. Oversee and manage engineering projects, ensuring the completion of duties related to residences, including maintenance, repairs, and resident requests. Assist in hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, counseling, and evaluating performance of maintenance staff, including daily spot checks. Ensure proper execution of work orders/requests and follow-up when necessary. Prepare requisitions for purchases and work orders, liaising with the Director of Purchasing. Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules for an efficient department. Maintain logs on stock items and tools, monitor distribution. Ensure daily meter readings on heat and light, and review consumption data. Support the Safety Committee actively. Contribute to energy conservation programs to meet budget targets. Maintain good relations with hotel contractors providing reliable 24-hour emergency service. Assist with maintenance of firefighting equipment and ensure emergency procedures are understood and practiced. What you bring: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school in mechanics, refrigeration, etc. preferred. 2-5 years of related engineering experience. Experience in a luxury resort setting and trade education are advantageous. Experience managing an engineering/maintenance team in hospitality. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of swimming pools and Jacuzzis preferred. Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and critical thinking. High integrity and transparency. Interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing). Technical knowledge of building maintenance, blueprints, wiring diagrams, hydraulics.
