Postdoctoral position in Speech Neurophysiology Commitment & contract: Postdoctoral position for 12 months (renewable for another 12 months) from September 1st, 2025 Location: Center for Translational Neurophysiology of Speech and Communication (CTNSC), Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Ferrara - Italy THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicians, psychologists, biomedical engineers, computational scientists, physicists, chemists, and biologists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research. The Multiscale Brain Communication Research Unit is coordinated by Prof. Luciano Fadiga, who has extensive experience in Neurophysiology. The research focuses on studying the mechanisms by which the brain processes and understands the communicative behaviors of other individuals. This includes the study of speech-based sensorimotor communication, in healthy participants, by means of neurophysiological methods. Within the team, your main responsibilities will be: Neurophysiological experimental design, set-up validation, data acquisition, and data analyses Drafting research papers ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A PhD in Neuroscience Documented experience in electrophysiological research Documented experience in speech and language neuroscience A strong publication record The ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data Documented experience in coaching junior scientists Good command in spoken and written English ADDITIONAL SKILLS Experience in electrophysiological signal processing Good communication skills Strong problem-solving attitude High motivation to learn Spirit of innovation and creativity Good time and priority management Ability to work in a challenging and international environment Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Competitive salary package for international standards Private health care coverage Wide range of staff discounts Please submit your application using the online form and including a detailed CV and contact details of 2 references.
