PostgreSQL Administrator - Database Maintenance & Performance Tuning

Role Description : This is a full-time on-site role for a PostgreSQL Administrator located in Bengaluru. The PostgreSQL Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, optimizing database performance, implementing security measures, and troubleshooting database-related issues on a day-to-day basis. Qualifications : - 8 years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases in production environments. - Expertise in designing and implementing high availability (HA) architectures (e.g., streaming replication, Patroni, etc.). - Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. - Strong knowledge of database security principles and implementation. - Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., pgBackRest, Barman). - Familiarity with monitoring tools like pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar. - Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers. - Scripting experience in languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for database automation. - Solid understanding of Linux systems, including shell scripting and basic server management - Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud database solutions - (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Qualifications : - PostgreSQL certifications (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Professional). - Experience with other database systems like MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
