Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities : Firewall Policy Implementation & Management : - Configure, implement, and maintain firewall security policies in line with company protocols. - Conduct periodic firewall rule audits and optimize them for better security. - Handle Sophos Firewall configuration, rule management, and troubleshooting. Network Management & Security : - Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure high availability and reliability. - Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot network hardware and software problems. - Implement security protocols to protect network systems and sensitive data. Hardware & Infrastructure Maintenance : - Install, configure, and maintain servers, routers, switches, and other network devices. - Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patch management. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting : - Monitor network and system performance, ensuring uptime and resolving issues proactively. - Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery drills. Documentation & Reporting : - Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, firewall policies, and system changes. - Prepare regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and network traffic. Required Skills and Experience : - 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer. - Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, etc.) - Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and management, particularly Sophos Firewalls. - Experience with network monitoring tools and techniques. - Knowledge of network security best practices and protocols. - Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance (servers, routers, switches). - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Strong documentation and reporting skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications : - Relevant certifications (i.e., CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet certifications). - Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience with scripting languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell). - Experience with SIEM tools (ref:hirist.tech)
