Kafka Developer - Java/Scala

Job Description : We are seeking a skilled and motivated Kafka Developer with 46 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining real-time data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Kafka architecture and hands-on experience working with Kafka producers, consumers, and clusters. You will play a key role in building and optimizing high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines and event-driven systems. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable Kafka-based data pipelines - Develop and maintain Kafka producers and consumers using Java or Scala - Manage and configure Kafka topics, partitions, brokers, and ZooKeeper - Optimize Kafka configurations and performance for throughput and latency - Integrate Kafka with other systems and tools as part of broader event-driven architecture - Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka issues, including message delivery failures and cluster performance - Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including data engineers, software developers, and DevOps - Document Kafka solutions, configurations, and best practices - Contribute to architecture design discussions and decision-making for data streaming solutions Must-Have Skills : - 3 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including working with Kafka producers, consumers, and managing Kafka clusters - Strong understanding of Kafka architecture (topics, partitions, brokers, ZooKeeper) - Experience working with Kafka APIs, particularly Java and/or Scala - Familiarity with data integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and real-time data pipelines - Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills - Experience with logging and monitoring tools for Kafka (e.g., Kafka Manager, Prometheus, Grafana) - Experience with Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, or ksqlDB - Exposure to cloud-native Kafka implementations (e.g., Confluent Cloud, AWS MSK, Azure Event Hubs) - Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and message queuing systems - Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes - Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail - Good communication and teamwork skills - Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment (ref:hirist.tech)
