Job Title : Embedded Project Manager About the Role : We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Embedded Project Manager to lead and drive the successful execution of our embedded systems projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and validation teams, as well as external stakeholders and customers, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your strong leadership, communication, and technical understanding of embedded systems development will be crucial to your success. Job Description : As an Embedded Project Manager, you will be the central point of contact and the driving force behind the successful delivery of embedded systems projects. You will be responsible for defining project scope, creating and managing project plans, allocating resources, tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders. Your ability to navigate the complexities of embedded development, including hardware-software integration, real-time constraints, and customer-specific requirements, will be essential. Responsibilities : - Prepare and maintain comprehensive Project Plans and Schedules, outlining tasks, dependencies, milestones, and resource allocation. - Monitor project execution against the plan and proactively manage deviations. - Utilize project management tools to track progress and communicate timelines effectively. - Identify and obtain the appropriate Tools, Technology, Standards, Processes, and Guidelines necessary for successful project execution. - Ensure the appropriate and consistent implementation of these elements across the project team. - Identify and establish proper Coding Standards in consultation with the customer and ensure their consistent and rigorous implementation by the development team. - Plan, implement, and monitor defect prevention activities at the project level to minimize bugs and improve software quality proactively. - Establish and maintain all project documents, including requirements, design specifications, test plans, and release notes, through a robust Configuration Management Process. - Plan, schedule, and ensure that regular reviews of software development activities (e.g., design reviews, code reviews) are held according to the project plan. - Track and ensure closure of action items from these reviews. - Authorize intermediate deliverables and patch releases to customers based on project progress and quality assessments. - Ensure timely and accurate Weekly Status Reports are generated and disseminated to relevant stakeholders. - Appraise the Project status, including progress, risks, and issues, to customer Management during regular Weekly calls. - Track the practical usage and effectiveness of implemented tools (e.g., IDEs, debuggers, static analysis tools) to ensure productivity and quality improvements are realized. - Effectively manage and communicate project status, issues, and risks with all project stakeholders, including internal teams, customer representatives, and external partners. - Proactively address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations. - Drive team compliance with quality standards, security protocols, operational resilience requirements, and other non-functional requirements specific to embedded systems. Required Skills : - Proven experience (typically [Specify Number] years) in managing embedded systems development projects through their complete lifecycle. - Solid technical understanding of embedded systems concepts, including hardware-software interaction, microcontrollers, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet). - Proficiency in using project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira with Portfolio/Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence) for planning, scheduling, and tracking. - Strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and manage issues effectively. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholders. - Understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies relevant to embedded software development. - Experience with configuration management tools and processes (e.g., Git, SVN, ClearCase). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges. - Ability to lead and motivate project teams in a matrix environment.
