Harness - Staff Software Engineer - Java/Golang

Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain critical components of a scalable software platform in a high-velocity environment. - Author detailed functional specifications and technical design documents for new features and systems. - Take ownership of complex codebases and system components, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. - Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate issues in a distributed computing environment. - Establish and advocate for engineering best practices, including quality standards, performance tuning, and system design patterns. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Software Engineers and Senior Engineers, guiding them through architecture and implementation decisions. - Conduct peer reviews for specifications, designs, and code to ensure technical excellence. - Identify and drive the resolution of technical debt and scalability challenges within the existing codebase. - Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively. - Work with technologies such as Java, Golang, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, ELK Stack, TimescaleDB, and Google Cloud Platform (including Stackdriver, GCS, Cloud Composer, and AI Platform). Qualifications & Skills : - 7-11 years of hands-on experience developing highly scalable, distributed applications, services, or platforms using Java and Golang. - Strong experience in designing and developing APIs, including REST, gRPC, and GraphQL interfaces. - Proficient in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies. - Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles. - Proven ability to analyze and debug complex systems and performance issues. - Prior experience working on SaaS platforms and solving large-scale product challenges. - Comfortable working in short, agile, iterative development cycles. - A proactive, entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (Google Cloud Platform) is highly desirable. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
