Technical Lead - Golang/React.js

Responsibilities : - Oversee and actively participate in the development of consumer-facing web and potentially mobile surfaces, with a strong emphasis on creating scalable and modular components that power the FERMAT shopping experience. - Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team in building user interfaces that are intuitive, performant, and accessible. - Ensure the technical feasibility and optimal implementation of UI/UX designs. - Architect and design reusable and modular frontend and backend components that can be efficiently leveraged across various features and iterations of the FERMAT shopping experience. - Focus on building a robust and maintainable codebase that can scale with user growth and evolving business needs. - Coordinate effectively with stakeholders within engineering (frontend, backend, mobile, infrastructure) and other departments (Product, Design, Marketing, Analytics) to align development efforts and ensure a cohesive product vision. - Drive clear communication and facilitate productive discussions to resolve technical dependencies and ensure shared understanding of goals. - Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and provide technical insights to inform business decisions. - Make well-informed technical tradeoffs that strategically balance business priorities, user experience requirements, and the need for a sustainable and robust technical foundation. - Articulate the rationale behind technical decisions and potential implications to stakeholders. - Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and experimentation. - Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote best practices in software development. - Invest in the professional development of team members and help them grow their technical skills and leadership potential. - Maintain a high bar for technical excellence and code quality within the team. - Monitor consumer interaction patterns, identify areas of friction or error, and proactively triage brand feedback to understand user pain points. - Analyze data and feedback to identify technical issues impacting user experience and conversion rates. - Drive technical solutions and improvements to reduce errors, enhance usability, and increase : - Extensive Software Development Experience : 7 years of professional experience building software products, with a strong focus on web development. - Proven Lead Experience : 2 years of demonstrable experience in a technical lead role, guiding and mentoring engineering teams. Deep Full-Stack Expertise : - Frontend : Deep domain expertise in modern frontend technologies, including React and Next.js frameworks, and strong proficiency in TypeScript. - Backend : Deep domain expertise in backend technologies, including Golang, and experience with relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL databases. - Early-Stage Startup Experience (Desired) : Previous experience working in an early-stage startup environment, particularly in a "0 to 1" scenario (building products from the ground up), is highly desired. - Cross-Functional Collaboration : Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across multiple engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders (Product, Design, etc.) to align efforts and drive tangible business outcomes. - Mentorship and Development : Proven experience in mentoring and actively investing in the technical and professional development of other software engineers. - Strong Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Customer-Facing Experience : Experience working on customer-facing applications and a strong understanding of user-centric development principles. - Cloud Proficiency : Experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) for deploying and managing Skills : - Experience with e-commerce platforms and related technologies. - Familiarity with performance monitoring and optimization tools. - Experience with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making. - Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG). - Experience with mobile development (React Native or native).
