Position Overview: As a Low-Voltage Cabling Technician at Telcom, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling systems used in data, voice, and video networks. You will work on projects involving structured cabling, security systems, and audio/visual systems in both commercial and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of cabling standards, and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling systems, including data, voice, and video networks. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for cabling projects. Ensure all installations are completed to code and meet industry standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing cabling systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Provide exceptional customer service and communication on job sites. Work in compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications: North Carolina SP-FA/LV (Low-Voltage Technician) Certification required . Proven experience in low-voltage cabling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, NEC, etc.). Experience with cable testing and troubleshooting equipment. Ability to work with various cabling types, such as Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, and coaxial. Familiarity with industry tools and technology for low-voltage installations. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation. Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: Experience with additional systems such as security cameras, access control, and audiovisual systems. OSHA certification or other safety-related training.
