Job Description

Minimum requirements for the role: A national diploma or degree in agriculture or related is preferred for the role. An AVCASA and or BASOS certificate is preferred. Previous experience having worked as an Area Manager or related position working closely with distributors within the agricultural market is essential. Must be computer literate in Microsoft applications. Previous experience having sold and marketed a range of crop protection and plant nutritional products into the agricultural industry is preferred.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently taking ownership of the distributors they are managing within the area. The company would also consider candidates who have worked as an agent within the agricultural industry.  The successful candidate will be responsible for: Developing and implementing strategies for business growth within the area. Designing and developing innovative products with the product development team. Providing technical advice on specialised products to agents/distributors and farmers on various products required for different crops. Helping distributors to develop solutions for crops and plant nutrition. Managing logistics and supply chain arrangements for depots regarding stock. Managing forecasts within the area for each depot or sales agent. Giving training on products with distributors at clients. Managing and controlling consignment stock in depots to increase sales and reduce stock levels. Visiting and managing agents. Runing trials at customer sites and reporting on results. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
