Resident Engineer

Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee construction projects in Benoni, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, particularly working as a contractor, and a proven ability to manage site operations, ensure compliance with project specifications, and maintain quality standards. Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the project. Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets required standards. Identify and resolve technical and site-related challenges in collaboration with the project team. Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and any deviations from the project plan. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on-site. Provide engineering support and technical guidance to site teams. Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and reports. Liaise with clients, consultants, and other key stakeholders as needed. Requirements: BEng/BSc (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering) from a recognized institution. ECSA registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng is highly preferred (candidates in the process of registration will also be considered). Experience in construction as a contractor is essential. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry regulations. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders. Proficiency in project management tools and software is an advantage.
