ServiceNow Developer

We, at Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a highly motivated and skilled ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic IT services team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions, including platform upgrades, integrations, and workflow enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong JavaScript development background, hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules, and a passion for building scalable enterprise solutions in a cloud-based environment. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows to meet business requirements. Participate in platform upgrade activities and ensure smooth system transitions. Install, configure, and troubleshoot MID servers for system integrations. Build and maintain REST/SOAP scripted web service integrations. Develop and automate tasks using PowerShell scripting as needed. Manage ServiceNow CMDB and support Discovery processes. Customize and enhance the Service Portal for an improved end-user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality ServiceNow solutions. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and technical documentation. Required Skills and Experience: Core ServiceNow Skills: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ServiceNow design, development, and workflows. JavaScript development background, particularly in the ServiceNow ecosystem. Exposure to MID servers and understanding of cloud services integration. Practical knowledge of ServiceNow core modules: Platform Upgrades, MID Server Installation/Troubleshooting, Integrations (REST/SOAP/Scripted Web Services), PowerShell Scripting, CMDB/Discovery, Service Portal. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certification required. ITIL Foundation certification is a plus. Additional Technical Skills (Preferred): Knowledge of YAML syntax and Ansible automation practices. Experience using Ansible playbooks for deployment and automation. Strong understanding of the Linux operating system. Familiarity with code editors like Visual Studio Code. Good understanding of Ansible Galaxy, Ansible Modules, Ansible Tags, and Ansible Roles. Proficiency with source control systems like Git (commands such as git pull, git push, git clone). Non-Technical Skills: Strong communication skills to interact with global stakeholders. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a geographically distributed environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of ServiceNow development experience. Hands-on experience delivering ServiceNow implementations in an Agile environment. Strong technical documentation and project coordination skills.
