Project Engineer

Minimum requirements: BEng Mechanical Engineering essential Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience Experience within an FMCG environment would be advantageous Experience in mechanical Design, P&ID, Project management, Commissioning and project execution, preferred Hands-on experience in managing a team MS Office Suite Knowledge, skills and attributes: Excellent communication skills Excellent report writing skills Attention to detail and accuracy Initiative and problem-solving Ability to handle stress and pressure Strong design and analytical skills Strong mathematical aptitude Ability to lead a team Role and responsibilities: Onsite construction, implementation, and supervision of various projects Onsite commissioning of engineering projects Assist the Engineering Manager: Projects, in any project engineering activities Contribute to the continuous optimization of the production process Draft manuals and procedures as required within the department Health and Safety: Participate in safety forums Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Attend safety education and refresher programmes Comply with safety policies and procedures Distribute safety information as and when required Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times Employee management and development: Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements
