JIRA/CONFLUENCE ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Jira/Confluence Administrator & Developer to join our client IT operations team within the automotive industry. This role will be responsible for the administration, customization, and optimization of Atlassian Jira and Confluence platforms to support project management, engineering, product development, and business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, Atlassian development, workflow design, and automation—ideally in a high-tech manufacturing, automotive R&D, or Tier 1 supplier environment . Key Responsibilities : Jira Administration & Development Configure, maintain, and administer Jira Software projects, workflows, permission schemes, custom fields, issue types, and screens. Develop and maintain advanced Jira workflows, automation rules (using Automation for Jira or ScriptRunner), and custom dashboards. Integrate Jira with other tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, ServiceNow, SAP, etc.) to support end-to-end automotive product lifecycle tracking. Confluence Administration Configure spaces, templates, and permissions based on department/team needs. Develop macros and templates to standardize documentation processes across engineering, QA, and product teams. Maintain site structure and ensure Confluence is used as a knowledge-sharing hub across the enterprise. Automation & Scripting Utilize ScriptRunner, REST APIs, and Groovy scripting to enhance Jira and Confluence functionality. Develop scripts and jobs to automate recurring tasks and enforce data consistency. Support & Governance Act as primary point of contact for Jira/Confluence-related issues, feature requests, and training. Ensure compliance with IT policies and controls related to configuration management and access control. Collaborate with project managers, product owners, QA, and development teams to streamline workflows. Required Qualifications : 3 to 5 years of experience as a Jira/Confluence Administrator or Developer in a mid-to-large enterprise environment. ITIL/ITSM experience. Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence). Experience with Jira automation, ScriptRunner, and REST API integration. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and SAFe frameworks used in automotive project planning. Strong understanding of permission schemes, issue security, and user access management. Proficiency in Groovy, SQL, and basic scripting (Python/PowerShell is a plus). Experience in process optimization and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated industry. Preferred Qualifications : Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry, especially with ISO, ASPICE, or functional safety (ISO 26262) compliance. Experience integrating Jira with PLM, ERP, or CAD/CAE systems. Atlassian Certified Jira/Confluence Administrator or equivalent certifications. Experience with Jira Data Center or Atlassian Cloud migration projects. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools used in automotive software delivery.
