Job Description
Objective: Provide support to local management, develop and maintain accurate standard costs, and ensure overall inventory accuracy at assigned sites. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and accounting requirements. Analyze and report on variations between budgeted and actual operating activity results. Oversee the company's cost accounting function, driving process improvements and providing key information and training to associates de Oatey. Responsibilities: Understand and communicate production performance and assist site management in identifying and addressing areas of concern within expenses and unfavorable variances that fall within our cost of non-conformance accounts. Accurately calculates inventory and understands the different components of product cost in a standard costing environment. Responsible for leading direct reporting, supporting manufacturing and distribution centers through timely and accurate financial information and analysis. Oversee responsibilities related to cost accounting in a manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with cycle counting coverage and accuracy requirements and other applicable accounting guidelines. Develop/maintain accurate costs for inventoriable items. Monitors, reports, and assists site management in controlling facility operating expenses. Participate in the month-end closing processes and carry out the necessary analyses and reports. It understands production-related variations within finance and helps identify and resolve ongoing problems. Proprietary process for the annual rolling of standard costs and required updates of current costs throughout the year. Support business needs by conducting the necessary research and analysis to provide data for decision-making. He is a contact person for inquiries related to internal and external costs. Provides accurate data for manufacturing versus purchasing projects. It plays a key role in the annual audit and budgeting process. Contributes to the management of key processes including, but not limited to, monthly variance application calculations and annual LIFO adjustment calculation. Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance and financial statement analysis. Create and improve financial models to forecast and report on revenue, expenses, and financial performance to support business leadership in decision-making Assist in annual budgeting processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness. Review existing processes, make recommendations on process improvements, assisting with the implementation of any improvements. Requirements and knowledge: English is required for this role. A minimum of three (3) years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Demonstrated experience in supervision and surveillance of accounting operations. Knowledge and support of all accounting functions. Deep emotional intelligence, behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence, and the ability to prevent, reduce, and resolve conflict. Excellent oral and written communication skills; stand-up presentation and training skills. Microsoft 365 proficiency. Advanced proficiency in report writing, database management and Excel. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, time-bound environment. Demonstrated individual and team leadership skills: decision-making, analysis, team building, and organizational skills. In-depth knowledge of cost accounting. Experience in cost accounting in manufacturing. Experience working with large data sets.
