Healthcare Application Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an Application Analyst to be a specialist in their respective Client Application(s) and supports core functions of the health system’s processes. Responsible for Client software analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation as well as application support and issue resolution. Interacts with Operational and IT personnel in identifying, evaluating and configuring systems to meet user and organizational requirements. Maintains high credibility and ownership of system activities within assigned application. Works directly with Operations and provides input on system design and capabilities. Responsibilities Develops system design, including functional specifications and strategies, based upon the analysis of specific operational needs. Analyze operational requirements and system capabilities to propose effective solutions. Understand workflow practices and how to apply to system configuration in support of Operational/IT strategies, issues, and priorities. Performs unit, system, and integration testing per standards and documents outcomes. Work with Application Team to ensure applications are well supported and implementations are properly executed. Follow defined standards, promote best practice principles, and participate in change control process. Optimizes, maintains and supports application/system as required. Participates effectively as a team member to achieve team goals and objectives. Provides on-call support, troubleshoots and resolves production support issues. Initiates escalation procedures. Identify potential issues and refer more complex issues to appropriate level of support. Builds rapport and always promotes teamwork by maintaining a professional and positive attitude, working to maintain open and professional lines of communication with all end users and colleagues, and utilizing key change management principles. Meet application deliverables, project timelines, and delivery weekly status reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or information technology related field preferred; (will consider equivalent combination of formal education and experience, i.e. degree plus 2 years related experience). Ideally, have pharmacy experience – either a pharmacist or a pharmacist tech, experience disbursing medications. Possess a combination of technical, analytical, and customer service skills Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, and manage multiple priorities Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills Exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to be socially perceptive in accepting and relaying information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting effectively with a variety of personnel. Superior verbal/written English communication skills, including grammatical, editing and proofreading skills. Superior follow-up/follow-through skills, verbal/written English communication skills, including grammatical, editing and proofreading skills.
