Job Description
We at Tata Consultancy Services seeking for a skilled and detail-oriented File Services Engineer to manage, support, and migrate enterprise file services infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing share structures, supporting access control, and executing data migrations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of file services in a secure and optimized environment. Key Responsibilities: Analyze the current file share environment to assess structure, usage, and compliance. Design and transform file share structures to meet organizational standards and best practices. Support GAO (Global Access Organization) in redesigning access rights models to comply with security and governance standards. Create new shares in NetApp CVO or NetApp FSxN, ensuring appropriate access control and compliance. Plan and determine migration schedules; coordinate with end users and distribute migration communications. Migrate data from source systems to target platforms with minimal disruption. Update DFS (Distributed File System) namespace targets post-migration. Resolve data-related issues during migration and maintain accurate migration logs for audit and tracking. Provide support during and after migration, including issue resolution and system tuning. Work flexibly to support migration activities inside and outside standard business hours. Assist with source system decommissioning following successful migration. Integrate newly created shares into predefined backup schedules to ensure data protection. Validate completion and integrity of initial backups post-migration. Required Skills & Qualifications: 5 years of experience in file services engineering or infrastructure roles. Strong understanding of file share architecture, permissions models, and storage platforms. Hands-on experience with NetApp CVO / FSxN, DFS, and enterprise file migration tools. Knowledge of access control principles and backup scheduling. Experience working with large-scale enterprise environments and cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with end users and technical teams. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ITIL practices and change management processes. Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions.
