Job Description

Fixed Assets Sr Supervisor This role is within Chamberlain Group's Finance group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) maintain all fixed asset record keeping, (ii) provide timely reporting by applying accounting principles, techniques, and enforcing company policies, and (iii) provide guidance to cost center owners regarding purchase orders and invoices related to asset go-live. (iv) Perform closing processes and tasks by ensuring all balances are accurate and properly reconciled to underlying data, and (v) approve month-end journal entries and accruals.Requires 6 years' experience in related accounting finance and a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business with major in Accounting or equivalent experience. Supervise the maintenance of all fixed asset record keeping and reporting, including data entry, physical auditing, tagging assets, reconciliations and report preparation Provide accurate and timely fixed asset financial information by applying accounting principles and techniques and enforcing company policies Provide guidance and expertise to cost center owners regarding purchase order status, expected timing of invoices, and asset go-live dates Own fixed asset subledger and ensure that fixed assets are properly maintained in SAP Manage the direct tagging of newly purchased assets while working with other departments to ensure assets are properly identified Partner with finance leadership regarding budgeted capital purchase requests Oversee and lead month end fixed asset closing tasks and serve as escalation point for fixed asset close activities Review and approve fixed asset and construction-in-progress reconciliations on a monthly basis; assist in clearing all reconciling items in a timely fashion Find and implement tools to provide efficiencies within the team, including improved month end reporting and Capital Purchase Requisition enhancements Lead and supervise special financial activities, fixed asset audits or other projects as directed Conduct ad-hoc analyses and create relevant presentation materials as needed. Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in business with major in accounting or equivalent experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and related applications Working knowledge of Mexican and USA accounting principles Excellent analytical skills Advanced English proficiency
