Job Description

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Car Headlight Design Release Engineer to lead the development and release of advanced headlamp systems. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end design, integration, and validation of headlight assemblies while ensuring alignment with performance, safety, styling, and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities: Own the design and release of front lighting systems (headlamps, DRLs, turn signals, adaptive/matrix lighting, etc.) from concept through production. Work closely with Styling, Electrical, Thermal, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Supplier teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD models, and engineering documentation throughout the product development lifecycle. Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards (FMVSS, ECE, etc.) and vehicle-level requirements. Conduct packaging and feasibility studies using CAD tools (CATIA V5, NX, etc.). Lead engineering validation activities: DFMEA, DVP&R, and coordinate lab/vehicle-level testing. Manage supplier deliverables, design changes, and issue resolution throughout the development process. Support prototype builds, plant launch activities, and provide post-launch engineering support. Interface with electrical and software teams for lighting control modules and smart lighting features. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Strong knowledge of headlamp systems, optics, materials, sealing, and thermal management. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5/NX) and PLM systems (Teamcenter, Enovia, etc.). Familiarity with regulatory compliance and test validation standards for lighting systems. Experience working with Tier-1 lighting suppliers. Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adaptive/matrix LED or laser headlamp systems. Exposure to lighting simulation tools (e.g., LucidShape, SPEOS). Understanding of CAN/LIN communication protocols and lighting ECUs. Hands-on experience with vehicle-level lighting integration and tuning.
