International Tax Senior Manager

Job Description

The International Tax Senior Manager, based in Mexico City, Tijuana or San Diego, will be an international specialist with tasks, responsibilities and requirements that include the following: Position tasks / Responsibilities Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations. Advising Company on a variety of tax issues including tax planning, business restructuring, tax compliance and tax controversy. Interpret existing and new US and non-US tax laws and applies to Company’s facts to maximize benefits and identify need for other expert resources, internal and external, to assist where necessary. Coordinates with non-US and US external tax advisors’ preparation of tax returns, transfer pricing studies, and other required tax advice. Having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of US tax laws (with special focus on cross-border issues such as including treaty application, withholding tax, foreign tax credit, anti-deferral regimes), as well as international tax law. Having a high-level understanding of relevant non-US tax laws (e.g., Mexico) where the Company operates or intends to operate. Analyzes researched facts and the sources utilized prior to composing a detailed report of the research findings. Applies in-depth knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and other filing requirements, including those related to international plans, structures, and transactions. Develop a point of view on key global tax trends, and how they impact the Company. Analyze U.S. and non-US implications of potential international repatriation and expansion strategies. Participating in and advising on cross border multi-jurisdictional tax and transfer pricing projects, businesses restructure or transformation amidst the evolving and changing global tax landscape, especially with BEPS 2.0 and the increasing levels of tax disputes across countries and regions. Identifying market entry or exit tax issues and workarounds. Legal entity rationalization. Transactional or operating model design, review and implementation. Tax governance and tax risk management. Requirements 8 years of experience in US tax law, international tax law,and related field. Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s a plus. Prior Big 4 experience; international assignment a plus. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the economic analyses and resolution of complex global tax and finance issues faced by multinational corporations; including restructuring, divestitures, valuations and intercompany transactions. Demonstrates comprehensive technical skills, including pricing policies, executing market studies and strategizing on local-country tax authority transfer pricing audits and advanced rulings. Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written). Skills Assessments Self-motivated with high initiative. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
