Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Vehicle Cockpit Design Release Engineer to lead the design, development, and release of cockpit components for our next-generation vehicles. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of cockpit systems, including IP (instrument panel), floor console, clusters, HVAC bezels, and trim parts, ensuring they meet quality, cost, timing, and functional requirements. Key Responsibilities: Lead design, development, and release of cockpit components from concept through production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Styling, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, and Vehicle Integration. Manage the Bill of Materials (BoM), CAD data, and engineering documentation through all phases of development. Ensure product designs meet performance, regulatory, and safety standards. Interface with suppliers to ensure design feasibility, part manufacturability, and cost targets. Drive design validation activities including DFMEA, DVP&R, and coordinate testing and validation of components. Manage engineering changes (ECRs/ECNs) and ensure timely resolution of issues. Support prototype builds, vehicle launches, and continuous improvement initiatives. Use CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) for packaging studies and design reviews. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 3 years of experience in interior systems engineering or related automotive field. Experience with cockpit components (IP, center console, bezels, trim, etc.) and related materials & manufacturing processes. Proficient in CAD tools such as CATIA V5, NX, or equivalent. Strong understanding of DVP&R, DFMEA, GD&T, and product lifecycle management. Experience working with Tier-1 suppliers and global cross-functional teams. Knowledge of vehicle development processes and gateways. Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in EV or ADAS-integrated cockpit systems. Exposure to Agile/Lean development in automotive environments. Familiarity with regulatory standards (FMVSS, ECE, etc.).
