Period End Accountant

About the Role We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Period End Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing period-end reconciliations and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, and supporting key accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliations , ensuring timely and accurate processing. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. Analyze AR reserves and bad debt , identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions. Manage prepaids , ensuring proper allocation and tracking. Oversee fixed assets and maintain accurate records in compliance with accounting policies. Calculate and record depreciation & amortization schedules. Prepare real estate (RE) tax schedules , ensuring timely reporting. Maintain and update the insurance schedule , tracking policy renewals and compliance. Record accrual and reclass entries , ensuring proper expense recognition. Conduct variance analysis , identifying discrepancies and potential financial risks. Review and analyze management fees , ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements. Prepare the monthly reporting package , delivering financial insights to stakeholders. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. 3 years of experience in accounting, particularly in period-end reporting. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle . Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines efficiently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
