Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities: Supplier Management: Manage the selection and maintenance of suppliers for Production and the Distribution Center. Lead the approval and certification process for new suppliers in accordance with company procedures. Lead supplier improvements and establish a continuous improvement plan for all suppliers. Quality System Oversight: Establish, implement, negotiate, standardize, control, and improve quality system activities in receiving and quarantine areas related to suppliers. Ensure that products are delivered within specifications based on PAPP drawings and established requirements. Supplier Audits & Compliance: Lead the annual supplier audit plan, ensuring its execution. Ensure compliance with the PPAP (Supplier Information, FAI for supplier parts/products). Establish and monitor quality objectives through the Annual Supplier Assessment. Manage and execute corrective actions in response to audit findings. Issue Resolution & Supplier Support: Resolve supplier issues in a timely and efficient manner. Provide technical support in quality matters and assist suppliers with compliance to company standards. Follow up daily on supplier issues to ensure timely resolution. Defective Materials & Quarantine Management: Manage defective materials and ensure proper handling in the quarantine area. Coordinate MRB (Material Review Board) meetings for quarantine material disposition. Participate in Supplier Review Board committees for SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) decisions and implementations. Complaint & Corrective Action Management: Open and manage SCARs with suppliers, ensuring CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) are implemented effectively. Track and prioritize credit claims and corrective actions from suppliers. Review and follow up on 8D problem-solving responses with suppliers. Documentation & Records Management: Maintain and ensure proper management of records received from suppliers, including standards certifications, contracts, NDAs, etc. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a strong background in problem-solving tools (8D, root cause analysis). Knowledge: Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, and VDA 6.5. Proficiency in core tools such as MSA, PPAP, CP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D. Experience in drawing interpretation, product audits, and sampling techniques. Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
