Mechanical Engineer - Packing

POSITION SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer-Packing supports new product development and product sustaining tasks. The Mechanical Engineer-Packing provides direct daily support to engineering groups by focusing on Design, 3D modeling, system-entry, cost optimization and verification testing. RESPONSIBILITIES 50% of the activities will be allocated to packing with the remaining 50% concentrated on mechanical design Assists with creation, reviewing and systems-entry of new packaging specifications Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group related to design that optimize for packaging and overall cost Plan, schedule, test and report all shipping internal standards and ISTA standard testing Mechanical engineering support to the Project Desing Leaders: Design of sheet metal parts Development of user manuals, submittal drawings and sales literature Prototype support activities And other activities related to engineering design Ability to create/modify packing and mechanical drawings/parts in CAD systems, knowledge of CREO Parametric is preferred Knowledge of design processes and mechanical concepts is preferred QUALIFICATIONS 3 years of Product Development engineering experience. Applied experience in Packaging Design Applied Sheetmetal design experience Data-entry systems familiarity & BOM Creation Experience - Oracle, Agile, etc. Troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically Good planning, organizing, documentation and communication skills Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams. Fluency in English (90%)
