About the Role: We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer Manager to lead the design, scaling, and operation of mission-critical production data systems. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage large-scale database environments in the cloud and drive automation efforts across multiple infrastructure platforms. What You’ll Do: Design and Build : Enable development teams to design and scale high-performing, production-ready data infrastructures using technologies like CloudSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Pub/Sub, and Kafka. Cloud Operations : Collaborate with engineers to operate and optimize a petabyte-scale database environment in a public cloud, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform. Infrastructure as Code : Write clean, reusable code to automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Puppet, Python, Terraform, and Packer. Technical Leadership : Maintain and evolve technical standards, policies, and best practices. Guide system performance and scalability to ensure smooth operations. Pathfinding Missions : Lead the migration of existing platforms to the cloud, helping the organization move toward cloud-native infrastructure. Self-Service Systems : Leverage your software development expertise to build and maintain self-service deployment systems for distributed platforms. Mentorship : Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering the growth of the next generation of technical talent within the organization. What You’ll Need: Experience : 5 years working with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other relational and non-relational databases. Cloud Expertise : 3 years of experience working in a public cloud environment, preferably Google Cloud Platform. Infrastructure Automation : Proficiency in automation tools for infrastructure provisioning such as Terraform and Puppet. Agile Practices : Familiarity with Agile methodologies for workload management and setting priorities. Large-Scale Environment : Proven experience managing large-scale database environments, ideally within eCommerce or high-traffic platforms. Distributed Systems Knowledge : Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, design, implementation, and performance tuning. DevOps/SRE Expertise : Practical experience with DevOps/SRE practices like CI/CD, performance monitoring, chaos engineering, load testing, and incident management. Why Join Us?
