Job Description

Responsibilities: Service tenant requests and address their concerns promptly. Perform regular maintenance duties on building equipment, including pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, and motors, as part of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. Change motor bearings and pump seals. Assist other maintenance staff with their tasks on a day-to-day basis. Identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce workplace risks. Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely. Report SH&E incidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, and/or at-risk behaviors to the supervisor and work to correct the problem. Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with company policies. Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required. Complete other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Operations. Participate in on-call rotation and occasional shift work. Service/Personal Skills: Strong service orientation with a consistent demonstration of empathy and courtesy in all customer interactions. Ability to take personal responsibility to resolve tenant concerns. Experience & Technical Skills: Knowledge of plumbing, electrical installations, and repair is an asset. Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, and air handling equipment. Background knowledge of building automation systems, controls, and instrumentation is an asset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Understanding of the maintenance and operational routines of mechanical equipment. Education/Designations/Licenses: Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent. A Fifth or Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 pounds or more). Work in small, cramped areas such as ceiling spaces. Work in various weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. Work at heights greater than 10 feet, on ladders and lifts. Climb ladders and stairs daily to reach work areas. Perform building inspections and identify deficiencies, repairing within skill set.
