Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Machine Safety Oversight: Develop, implement, and monitor protocols to ensure machine safety in line with company and South African standards. Project & Site Compliance: Project and Capex management Lead the LOTOTO project, ensuring all activities comply with OSHA and local regulations. Conduct regular audits and site inspections to verify adherence to safety standards. Policy & Training Development: Create and update safety policies, procedures, and training programs for staff at all levels. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures to reduce risks. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external regulators to maintain a unified approach to safety. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of evolving safety regulations and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Degree, in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical Or Electrical Engineering preferable ) Qualification/s and/or formal training PMP® 2 Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Or Registration as a Professional Engineer PrEng/PrTech Recognized diploma/certificate in project management Working knowledge of Early Equipment Management (EEM) processes through TPM/WCM Core / Functional skills (IT, system experience etc) An excellent level of written and spoken English is essential Ability to prepare and communicate financial information for business justification Working knowledge of SAP Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Projects). Experience Experience working in an industrial environment in Project Management function role for minimum 3 years Excellent technical knowledge of machine operations, electrical requirements and design thinking Extensive experience managing machine safety protocols in line with OSHA and South African standards. Proven track record overseeing projects such as Machine Safety, LOTOTO projects ensuring site compliance and operational safety. Skilled in developing, implementing, and updating safety policies, procedures, and training programs for diverse teams. Excellent communication skills being able to understand customer requirements, and translate this into a solution through capital expenditure Proficient in conducting risk assessments, detailed site audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards effectively. Strong collaboration skills, having worked closely with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external regulatory bodies. A systematic, logical and analytical approach with attention to detail is important for the compilation and operation of project specifications and technical documentation Project management experience to lead, drive and implement projects to identify, reduce or eliminate risk Other Requirements Suitably recognized industry Project Management certification (PMP®.) preferred or experience with established project management methodologies Working knowledge of Capital Expenditure requirements planning & processes Engineering knowledge related to Early Equipment Management (EEM) or other TPM/WCM methodologies Working knowledge of machine safety (CE requirements), safety requirements (OSH Act) and contractor management Financial acumen to manage small, medium and large-scale projects from ideation phase through to implementation and execution phase for financial justification, IRR and payback analyses (build the relevant business case) Working knowledge of SAP Monitor and control all project KPIs throughout the lifecycle of the project as to not deviate from preapproved thresholds Have the knowledge in developing and implementing risk management in projects
