General Manager - Meat

Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a Bachelors or higher degree in Marketing, Commercial Management, Finance, or Supply Chain Management An MBA/MBL will be an added advantage Minimum of 15 years work experience and 5 years management experience in a related industry will be required Exposure to the meat trade and international trade will be advantageous Must have proven experience in stakeholder and relationship management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to effectively communicate safety-related information to diverse audiences will be required for this role The successful candidate will be responsible for: Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth, targeting human and pet treat segments, and expanding the existing customer base. Building and maintaining strong client relationships with distributors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations and foster growth opportunities. Conducting market analysis to monitor trends, consumer preferences, and make informed decisions. Negotiating with suppliers, distributors, and stakeholders to secure favorable terms and pricing for ostrich-related meat products. Ensuring regulatory compliance with industry standards and safety requirements for ostrich products, both domestically and internationally. Identifying and mitigating potential risks such as market fluctuations, supply disruptions, and changing consumer demands. Facilitating effective communication with internal teams and external partners to convey goals, strategies, and updates. Resolving challenges and issues related to production, distribution, or marketing of ostrich-related products. Identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and innovation in sales and marketing efforts, locally and internationally.
