Industrial Designer ( Mid-Level)

Overview A mid-level position available for an Industrial Designer with a technical background and 4 - 6 years of experience, interested in working in a dynamic design and production environment. This position is an opportunity to work in a hands-on environment where the design decisions you make can have real world positive impacts in the lives of the people we create products for. Salary: R26,500/Month Location: Ottery, Cape Town Responsibilities / Duties Working on product improvements and new product development Working on product customizations Drafting technical assembly and use documents Generating technical drawings for use by the suppliers and production Helping to maintain the design departments filing system as part of the organisations Quality Management Systems Accompanying the clinical team as a technician Assisting with product field testing Working with the production team to maintain and improve quality Experience / Skills A Diploma or Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent Proficiency in English Technical background with 4-6 years relevant experience Experience in dynamic design and production Hands on with a good mechanical brain Understand the positive and life changing impact of the products to the end users Familiarity withSolidWorks and Fusion360 software: 3D modeling, sheet metal features and generating technical drawings for production Valid driver''s license Experiences with using a variety of workshop tools safely and accurately A working knowledge of electronics is an advantage
