RF Design Engineer

Help design parts of systems that deal with radio frequencies and microwaves, like amplifiers, signal generators, converters, antennas, and filters. These designs will be put onto circuit boards, waveguides, or coaxial components, and you'll work closely with a team from different fields Build, test, and assess early versions or final designs Adapt early designs so they can be made in large quantities Give technical advice to system engineers Take an active part in designing whole systems or coming up with new ideas Lead the radio frequency part of a project team Organize and join meetings where designs are reviewed Make and keep documents like specifications, design plans, and test instructions Share your specialized knowledge to help train others in the company Guide and teach coworkers and interns in the same area Help with the technical parts of creating proposals and quotes for selling the company's products Start or join efforts to improve important technologies in the company Skills & Experience: More than 5 years of experience working with RF & Microwave technology, including being deeply involved in designing and putting ideas into action. This involves using specific methods for designing, keeping track of design plans, understanding how systems work together, managing configurations, ensuring quality, and being skilled with the right technologies and tools Knowing how to design antennas Having a strong and careful approach to designing things and analyzing them Being skilled in using tools to draw schematics and lay out circuit boards, especially Altium Designer It's beneficial to know how to use certain software like Microwave Office, CST, LT Spice, Matlab/Python, and DOORS Having real experience using tools for testing, like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, and phase noise meters Qualification: Diploma/Degree in RF Engineering Post-grad master's degree or PhD is preferred Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
