Job Description

The Child Mind Institute is seeking a Director of Program Implementation to operationalize, implement, and help define the strategic direction of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Initiative (CAMHI) in Greece.

Established through a generous grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), the CAMHI is a five-year program with a mission to enhance the capacity of mental health care providers, increase access to quality care, and ultimately improve the mental health outcomes for young people across the country.

Ratified through Greek law no. 5015/2023, the CAMHI’s various programmatic components are implemented under the public-private partnership in place between SNF and the Greek state through SNF’s Global Health Initiative, with support from the Hellenic Ministry of Health.

The person in this role will require creativity, energy, and commitment to leverage novel opportunities and help build services via a multi-faceted national training program with the potential to broadly impact how the public health sector responds to and cares for child and adolescent mental health needs in Greece. This role will engage with a broad range of clinicians, policymakers, researchers, and leaders, as well as directly with the funder.
Reporting to the Vice President (VP) of Strategic Partnerships at the Child Mind Institute, this is an exempt, full-time position located in Athens, Greece.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and direct all aspects of implementation, national operations, and quality assurance of the CAMHI to ensure activities are coordinated, timely, efficient, and successful, in partnership with the CAMHI Program Director and CMI VP of Strategic Partnerships
• Mentor and help clinical leaders manage program staff, including supporting clinical leaders conducting performance reviews and providing real-time feedback to staff to facilitate productivity
• Direct and line manage Child Mind Institute staff based in Greece and serve as the focal point for additional contractors (i.e., mental health supervisors, etc.)
• Coordinate the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Network to ensure sound delivery of programmatic objectives throughout Greece, under the broad oversight of the CAMHI Program Director
• Support the institutionalization of the CAMHI network through working with the program Scientific Steering Committee to bring forward key discussions and decisions
• Work with regional leaders to create strategic plans and define workplans for the implementation of the program in all five “Hubs” comprising the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Network (Alexandroupolis, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Athens, and Heraklion in Crete)
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the implementation of the program
• Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices and offer recommendations for improving efficiency and coordination across all Hubs
• Partner with the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to act as the Child Mind Institute’s key focal point for SNF in Greece.
• In partnership with the CAMHI’s Program Director, manage the operation of the Coordinating Center located in Athens, which includes personnel from both Child Mind Institute and the local implementing partner (AMKE)
• Define metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the pilot to develop recommendations for how the program can be implemented following handover to the Greek State
• Coordinate with the program’s mental health professionals and researchers to determine and document impact metrics necessary to ensure the success of the clinical trainings
• In collaboration with other program leaders, create a long-term sustainability plan for the program, including considerations for broad adoption via certification and incentivization
• In partnership with SNF and the CAMHI Program Director, serve as a focal point for the program with the Greek State and other organizations and key players in the mental health space in Greece
• Work with the CAMH Network to identify programmatic entry points (e.g., hospitals, community centers, schools, NGOs, residency programs, etc.) and develop relationships with key stakeholders
• In collaboration with other program leaders, design a strategic plan for engaging partners to implement the program in Attica and other regions via non-Network hospitals, community clinics, and community based organizations
• Directly engage service providers, community groups, and organizations (e.g., schools, NGOs, prefectures, professional networks, etc.) to present the project, engage their participation, formalize partnerships, and establish operational implementation plans
• Ensure the program’s implementation processes are aligned with the long-term needs of the grant, as well as the needs of the AMKE
• Engage with members of the CAMHI team as well as Greek beneficiaries and partners to find ways to increase the quality of program delivery
• Support the integration of the Youth Engagement Scheme and CAMHI clinical activities to improve quality and sustainability of the comprehensive CAMHI program
• As a member of the leadership team, report regularly on program progress, challenges, and strategy to both SNF and Child Mind Institute senior leadership
• Regular travel to Hub cities will be required
