Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids continues to drive and support impressive progress in tobacco control policy progress in every region of the world. Since the inception of our international program in 2007, we have supported some 270 policy achievements. Our work has focused on passing strong tobacco control laws consistent with the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, and also on effective implementation of policies that reduce the demand for tobacco products including comprehensive smoke-free laws; comprehensive bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship; large pictorial health warning labels; and tobacco tax increases that raise the price and reduce the affordability of tobacco products. Increasingly, our work has addressed the latest generation of tobacco products such as electronic and heated cigarettes.

The Campaign is a designated implementing partner of the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use, working with governments and non-governmental organizations to implement effective measures to reduce tobacco use. The Campaign has active initiatives in low-and middle-income countries around the world where the highest rates of tobacco use are found, in addition to its longstanding program in the United States.

Global statistics on tobacco-related deaths are astonishing. Without urgent action, tobacco will kill one billion people in the 21st century.
