Data Architect

Overview Role: Data Architect Start: ASAP Duration: 6 months Capacity: 5 days per week Location: Remote - Italy Language: English Job Description We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Python, PySpark, and Azure where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions that handle billions of rows of structured financial data. Responsibilities Design and implement scalable data architectures leveraging Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake. Develop complex data integration pipelines with transformations, modeling, and business logic for structured financial data. Apply medallion architecture best practices for data ingestion, curation, and serving. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver business-critical data products. Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to SDLC practices. Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency on Azure. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decision-making. Skills needed 8 years of overall experience in software / data engineering, with at least 5 years in software development. Strong expertise in Python with proven software engineering skills. Minimum 2 years of hands-on PySpark experience, including developing applications using IDEs such as VS Code or PyCharm. Solid experience working with Delta Lake tables and relational data models (SQL). Proven track record in building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and processing frameworks. Preferably experience with the Azure Databricks platform. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into achievable steps.
