Production Planning Engineer

To strengthen our operations team, we are looking for a driven Production Planning Engineer who will act as the pilot in the cockpit of our micro-motor factory in Leuven. ERP & Planning System Ownership Operate and continuously improve our ERP system for production planning. Ensure accurate data for planning parameters, material requirements, and capacity constraints. Operations Planning (S&OP) Balance forecasted customer demand with internal production capacity and material availability. Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) by providing planning insights and realistic lead times. Production Scheduling Create detailed production schedules based on material availability and validated capacity. Ensure alignment between planning and execution through effective ERP usage. Execution Monitoring & Escalation Monitor daily production progress; flag deviations and escalate risks to the right teams in a timely manner. Customer Communication Provide clear and realistic lead times. Communicate changes proactively and maintain customer trust throughout the order cycle. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze ERP and planning data to identify risks related to capacity, stock levels, and logistics. Provide actionable insights to management. Purchasing & Logistics Coordination Translate planning needs into clear priorities for purchasing and logistics. Align supply flows with the production schedule. KPI Dashboarding & Performance Monitoring Define, monitor, and report on key planning KPIs such as: Production Schedule Adherence On-Time Delivery (OTD) Lead Time Compliance Material Availability PO Fulfilment Logistics Performance Recommend corrective actions based on KPI insights. Team Communication & Alignment Motivate and align production, purchasing, and logistics teams to execute planning priorities. Act as a central point of contact for all planning-related topics. Continuous Improvement Identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements. Contribute actively to the evolution of our planning practices. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent. 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination (preferred, not required). Familiarity with ERP systems (experience is a plus, but not essential). Strong analytical and structured mindset; performance-driven and solution-oriented.
