To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for an Engineering Shift Supervisor to come and join our team at our Supreme Concrete Factory in Sittingbourne ME10 3SL . To safely coordinate, plan and execute effective maintenance at the Sittingbourne operation. To take full responsibility of the shift Engineers in terms of management of Breakdowns and PPM planning whilst maintaining smooth running of the production processes. To ensure all compliant checks and PPM's are carried out effectively and on time ensuring the records go to the appropriate person of responsibility To safely plan and execute all maintenance corrective actions from inspections and audits within expected time frames. To safely Coordinate, plan, prioritise and implement any actions or improvements raised on the "T-Card" system in an Appropriate time frame To coordinate, control and direct site shift engineers and other contractors working on site to carry out their required work in a safe and effective manner - including control through RAMS, and Authorisation and Permit to Work processes. To take a proactive role in achieving and where possible exceeding standards and performance in Health and Safety, Housekeeping, Financial, Quality and Customer Service and Environmental requirements of the business. To manage essential spares and stock parts as efficiently and effectively as required; ordering using supply lead times, cost and risk analysis to determine the spares purchased, and ensuring the Engineering Spares Stock Sheet is maintained daily. Work with Site Production Manager and Site Engineering Manager and all employees to ensure all areas of the factory work together to maximize performance, specifically providing all materials and schedules to all areas & processes. To be Step up for Site Engineering Manager when needed. To have an active role in the company continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth Main duties and responsibilities Organising and leading a Safety First approach to all maintenance activities on site. Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff. Complete accident and incident investigations to the necessary level if required. Be the key site contact for weekend work; maintaining regular contact with the Weekend Duty Manager and following the escalation process where required. Organising and managing the necessary ?permits to work' when required for the maintenance team and contractors Management and Execution of the PPM maintenance systems to maximise machine performance and minimise breakdowns. Planning larger maintenance tasks with the Production leadership team to minimise disruption of production requirements. Organising work that needs to be carried out by shift engineers and contractors from specifying job requirements, inductions through to signing off the work when completed. Take a leading role in the drive for continuous improvement on site to minimise all health related risks including reducing exposure to dust, noise, vibration and other health related risks keeping clear records of all improvements achieved. Using problem solving tools and techniques to generate plans for improvement work. Leading the proactive improvement approach within the maintenance team. Support the organising of the purchasing of all essential engineering spares on time without over stocking. Effectively communicating the daily / weekly maintenance requirements to the management, supervisory and production teams with clear instructions of all plans. Keeping accurate records of all maintenance work carried out for future reference. Maintaining and improving all plant to a high standard to give maximum performance. Development of the Engineering Team to the required standards. Rigorous application of continuous improvement techniques to exceed all KPI's. Support the management team in all aspects of the business. Support the business strategy, goals and objectives through an active involvement in continuous improvement and lean activities. Driving Continuous Improvement in all areas as part of the Sittingbourne Factory Management Team. Full compliance with all Factory systems i.e. Health & Safety, Environmental, Financial, Quality and Customer Service. Cross departmental and factory communications. Regular communication and ongoing informal performance reviews with your team on Company and departmental issues. 23 Working alongside the maintenance team for fault finding and provide hep when needed Essential Qualifications & Experience: IBP3M Engineering Training / Qualifications ILM2 IOSH Managing Safely Desirable: ILM3 NEBOSH Experience: Sound Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Knowledge. Production Knowledge Experience People Management Experience Skills & Knowledge: Mechanical Engineering Including Hydraulics and Pneumatics. Electrical Knowledge Leadership Problem solving tools and techniques to deliver efficiency improvements.
